A Letter to Charles Gray- From Dirk Anderson

Dear Brah: I am so sorry you left us, too early brother. I don't know if you knew this, but when Robert and I were kids about 8 or nine, and other kids picked on me, one of the fastest ways I got them to leave me alone was to tell them that I knew you. The 50's and 60's were hell Brah, but things got a little better after that. I will never know how it affected you but I know how it affected this white boy with the father who was part American Indian. One of the biggest compliments you ever gave me and it didn't matter if you saw me yesterday or years later, you would always call me Blood, "Hey , what's happening Blood!" It always made me feel warm and loved , like I belonged. And everyone wants to feel loved, and you always made me feel loved Brother. My only regret is that I never told you this. So as IZ would say; Set me a plate Brah, and be there when I cross, I sure liked your fried chicken Brah. Mother Gray did it right but then you learned from mom. Missing you Brother. "N'Oubliez Jamais" I never will. Your friend and Brother always,

Dirk Anderson

Thank you Dirk on behalf of the gray family,

With warm Regards, Kristi
